#BringBackOurGirls Art Print

#BringBackOurGirls was created by Sandra Jean Ceas out of empathy for the Nigerian parentsseparated from daughters kidnapped by Boko Haram in April 2014. The girls weretaken from the Government Secondary School in Chibok, a school built by theChurch of the Brethren. Many of the girls are members of the Church of theBrethren in Nigeria. Two hundred and seventy-six tiny dresses represent eachgirl who was kidnapped by the Islamist extremists, symbolized by the circularpattern generated from the Islamic motif in the center. Fifty-seven girlsescaped, as illustrated in the random breakout of uniforms. Underlying thevisual symmetry is a loud silence of despair.
